Privacy Policy — How We Use Your Data

This policy explains what we collect when you use mtjatlanta.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. If anything here is unclear, please ask us — we are happy to explain.

Who we are

Mtjatlanta is a jewellery shop based at 311 Summerwalk Pkwy, Tucker, GA 30084. You can reach us at Muradrajan@gmail.com or (404) 409-8652.

What we collect

We only ask for what we need to take an order and get it to you.

When you create an account: your name, email address, mobile number and delivery address. Your password is never stored — we keep only a one-way hash of it, so nobody at Mtjatlanta can read or recover your password.

When you place an order: the items, the price at the time, and the delivery address you gave. This is kept as your order record so both you and we can look it up later.

When you message us: the name, email, phone number and message you type into the contact form.

When you pay: payment is handled by Stripe on their own pages. Your card number is entered there, not here, and never reaches this website. Stripe tells us only whether the payment succeeded, and we store their reference for it so a charge can be traced back to your order — for a refund, for example.

What we do not collect: we never see or store your card number, expiry date or security code. What Stripe does with the details you give them is covered by their own privacy policy.

Why we collect it

To let you sign in, to keep your basket and wishlist, to deliver what you ordered, to call or email you about that order, and to answer your questions. We do not sell your details to anyone, and we do not send marketing email unless you ask us to.

Cookies

We use one cookie of our own. When you sign in we set a cookie so the site remembers you on the next page. It is marked httpOnly, which means scripts running in your browser cannot read it, and it lasts 30 days or until you sign out. It holds no personal information beyond identifying your account.

We do not use advertising cookies, and there is no analytics or tracking on this site.

Other companies that may see you

Google Maps — the map on our contact page is embedded from Google, which means Google can see that your browser loaded it. Their privacy policy applies to that: policies.google.com/privacy.

Stripe — when you pay, you are taken to Stripe's own pages and your card details are given to them, not to us. Their privacy policy applies to that: stripe.com/privacy.

Email — order confirmations, password resets and replies are sent through an email provider on our behalf.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as we are required to for accounting purposes. Your account, addresses, basket and wishlist are kept until you ask us to close the account. Contact form messages are kept until we have dealt with them and no longer need them.

Your choices

You can see and change your details, and see your past orders, under My Account at any time. If you would like a copy of what we hold about you, or would like your account and its data deleted, email Muradrajan@gmail.com and we will do it. Note that we may have to keep order records even after closing an account, because tax rules require it.

Keeping it safe

Passwords are hashed, the sign-in cookie cannot be read by scripts, and access to the admin side of the site is restricted. No website can promise perfect security, but if anything ever went wrong that affected your data, we would tell you.
